How did you hear about WIN.NYC and why did you decide to get involved?

I first heard about WIN.NYC from the fantastic Rachel Eve Stein, who I happened to squeeze in next to at the 21st Century City For All conference I attended right after the general election. We were talking about politics and our networks, as progressives do, and suddenly – boom – I was involved with WIN.NYC. It’s a great network that saves women the trouble of sussing through the overwhelming political landscape to identify exactly what affects them and how to take action or get involved – I love it!

What does WIN.NYC mean to you?

First of all, it’s a wonderful resource, both for sharing and for learning about events, information, jobs, and opportunities related to issues I care about. I don’t know what people did before WIN! It has also provided me with a strong network that connects me with thousands of other people in the City who share my values and interests. But WIN really is about its members, and so I value it most highly for the women I have met through WIN. Every single one is driven, passionate, and truly willing to help each other out, not to mention a lot of fun to go to a party with – my kind of community.
